Esperanzah Gats COOP57

We are going to ask for a loan of 15,000 € to COOP57 (Ethical and Supportive Financial Services), which is our financial services cooperative, in order to sponsor the organization of the Esperanzah Festival! 2013. What we pretend with this loan is to cover the festivals’ previous economic needs without generating tensions with Gats, the promoting entity, as far as liquid assets are concerned. For that reason, we need to guarantee a big part or the total requested amount. We have given ourselves a deadline of 70 days.

We are redefining our relationships with all the festival`s agents: artists, technicians, entities… so that we could share risks and socialize the benefits. We think that we should open this participation to our social surroundings.

We have developed a supportive bank endorsement’s process, in which private people and entities could sponsor Esperanzah by compromising a small amount in order to apply for the loan. This loan is the responsibility of Gats, who must give it back, so that the bank endorsements would not be executed, except that Gats bankrupts, could not face the reimbursement or was obliged to close down.

The current Gats’ economic situation enables to confirm that there exist enough resources so as to face the loan in case of an eventual negative result of the Festival, but we need to know that our project counts with ample social network’s support to give sense to its continuity. We will continue informing you about the following-up process and other social economy issues.

In this website, you can find information regarding the Festival and other projects behind. There are loads of reasons for #avaloesperanzah

The Festival`s theme

Esperanzah! always revolves about a theme. We consider Esperanzah! as a mobilization tool through culture, as a scenario to show other possible scenarios that could be built up if we all wanted to.

Other times, themes have dealt with themes such as food sovereignty or the repudiation to Eurovegas project. This time, we go beyond by fostering a regional project called Xarxem el Delta, an online issue developed by our partners at Florette www.esperanzah.be y http://www.cncd.be. Click here to see the project`s website.

This bank endorsements campaign seeks not only to know whether Esperanzah! has an ample social support, but also to know if this social base is willing to see more ambitious projects, such as that of Xarxam el Delta del Llobregat. We will never get tired of repeating this: the community is the chance to put everything upside down. If only we were aware of everything we could achieve.

Xarxem el Delta aims to be the germ of a great project that, from a popular and community basis, could be the answer to a lot of social, cultural, environmental and economic problems of today.

Esperanzah! Festival

For three days, we will meet from 13th to 15th September at Prat de Llobregat (Barcelona) to think about how we can make a fairer and more supportive world, where we all could fit in.

Its supportive engagement is horizontal, including everyone from the organization and the guest artists, up to the associations and professionals taking part at the festival. That is why Esperanzah! starts up as an open proposal to be defined by all the entities and NGOs willing to join this process. It is also open to all the voluntaries willing to build together this near reality.

Esperanzah! is a festival full with engaged, pluralistic and nomad music with the main aim of mobilizing society.

Radio Esperanzah!

Radio Esperanzah! is the festival’s ephemeral radio working as a press office during the festival. It is the project in charge of explaining what is going on everyday and leaving proof of it through recordings, videos and written formats. Esperanzah! is a festival rich in nuances, visitors, guests… It represents the human resources that we can’t help but recording so that everyone has access to it.

What we are able to experience and learn in Esperanzah! we’ll get it through Radio Esperanzah!, so that it could be improved and commented.

We deconstruct the dominant messages. Who said we cannot?

Possibilities’ village

We are convinced that it is possible to do things otherwise, to relate with the world differently. Transforming this world into a better world is possible. For that reason we need models, experiences and to know that it is possible. Possibilities’ village is that space where we can experience, show, learn, discover and construct those logical scenarios that do not exist right now, but could exist and provide answers to our problems.

Every time that we go to the toilet, we have an idea. A lot of them get materialized. This new world needs ideas to get it regenerated.

The neighbourhoods and villages of music of the world.

It is fine to know and think about new organization models, but it is better to build them up. Together with partners from here and there, Esperanzah! works to construct scenarios that allow the culture’s role to grow up, even within this current world of costs cuts, offspring of the capitalism’s failure.

We work for what we believe in. Let’s create where no one does it. Let’s create together when we have the chance.

Base culture

The people have the right to culture, but this culture is built by a few for a lot of people. We have been condemning that culture is been monopolized by the technocrats and cultural managers for a long time. We respect this, because we think there must exist all kinds of viewpoints, but this is, in our opinion, a very passive and lodged up way of culture, usually oriented as a mere economic activity.

We facilitate, share and invite to reutilize, mix and comment our content. We copy the good things, too ☺ Pass it on to the people from zemos98.org
